Our recent club shoots have seen strong attendance, new shooters stepping onto the range, great performances from our regular competitors, and a club that continues to grow from one event to the next.
But the real success isn’t just in the scores.
It’s the atmosphere.
Competition Without the Intimidation
For someone looking at practical shooting from the outside, taking part in your first match can seem daunting.
You might think you need years of experience. You might worry that you’re not fast enough. You might not know the rules, the equipment or even where to start.
That’s exactly why the Shield Tactical Club exists.
Our club shoots give shooters the opportunity to experience practical shooting in a structured, supportive environment where everyone can compete at their own level.
At our recent shoots, we’ve welcomed novice competitors alongside more experienced shooters. Some arrive focused on improving their match performance. Others simply want to test their shooting skills in a more dynamic environment.

A Club Built Around Better Shooting
The Shield Tactical Club grew naturally from our training.
There comes a point where standing on a range and shooting at a single target is no longer enough. Shooters need to learn how to move, think, make decisions and apply their fundamentals under pressure.
Competition gives us a way to do that.
Our club shoots create stages that challenge different shooting skills, from accuracy and transitions to movement, positioning and stage planning.
The timer adds pressure. The score gives you feedback. The stages expose the skills you need to work on.
But underneath all of that is something more important: you’re shooting alongside people who want to see you improve.
New Shooters Are Joining Us
One of the most encouraging things about our recent shoots has been seeing new shooters getting involved.
You do not need to be an experienced competitive shooter to become part of the Shield Tactical Club.
Our approach is to help shooters develop progressively. Training builds the fundamentals. Club shoots give you somewhere to apply them. As your skills and confidence grow, there is a natural pathway into more formal IPSC competition for those who want to take their shooting further.
For some shooters, the goal is serious competition.
For others, it’s simply becoming a better, more capable shooter.
Both belong on our range.
The Results Are Getting Better
As the club has grown, so has the standard of shooting.
We’re seeing shooters become more confident in their movement, more comfortable with stage planning and increasingly capable of balancing speed with accuracy.
That improvement is one of the biggest reasons we run these events.
A match gives you an honest picture of your shooting. It shows you what is working and what you need to train next.
Then you go back to training, work on those skills and come back stronger.
That cycle is at the heart of what we do at Shield Tactical.

Scores matter.

But ask most of our shooters what keeps them coming back and the answer goes beyond the results sheet.
