The Dry-Fire Drills That Actually Make You Better

Dry-fire is the single most powerful way to improve your shooting. It costs nothing, requires no ammo, and builds the subconscious skills that make you fast and accurate.

Here are the drills that matter.

1. Sight focus drill

Pick a tiny spot on the wall. Present the gun. Focus only on the sights. Repeat until the sights land consistently without forcing them. This is possible the most important drill of all. Builds the muscle memory you need to let your gun follow your vision.

2. Trigger press drill

Press the trigger straight back without shaking the gun. This is the foundation of accurate shooting. Most misses are caused by poor trigger control.

3. Draw to first shot

Start slow. Build consistency. Speed comes later.

4. Movement entry

Step into a position, sights up, trigger ready. Smooth movement creates smooth shooting.

Fifteen minutes a day changes everything. Most shooters only practice on the range.

That’s why they stay average.
